The objective of this project was to develop a bold, dynamic sports-style logo that balances strong illustration with clean, modern design. This concept represents a fictional baseball team, featuring a custom-crafted typeface 'COOGS' tailored to complement the motion and structure of the diamond-shaped emblem.
This concept was inspired by one of my favorite marks—the K-State Powercat logo. While sketching, I recognized an opportunity to incorporate mountain elements, as the diamond-shaped framework naturally lent itself to forming clean, angular mountain silhouettes.
With a strong passion for sports-style branding, this project—beginning from a simple sketch—allowed me to create exactly the kind of work I love. The K-State Powercat logo has always been one of my favorites, making this the perfect conceptual project to take on and explore creatively. I borrowed the purple as purple works for a climate such as Colorado.
The final design conveys movement, fierceness, and strength. While the diamond framing around the cougar supports the baseball concept, the cougar icon itself—without the diamond or mountains—stands confidently on its own as a bold, independent mark.
